A dream just a decade ago, the Joseph and Wolf Lebovic Jewish Community Campus is changing the landscape of York Region - home to one of the world’s fastest growing Jewish communities anywhere outside of Israel.
Spread across 36 acres on Bathurst Street north of Rutherford Road, the Lebovic Campus, which opened Fall 2012, is coming to life.
Designed with community in mind, the campus will be a place for everyone – young and old, Jew and gentile, those of all affiliations, abilities and interests. It will be a place of culture and education, recreation and wellness, celebration and integration, health and social services.
The Lebovic Campus is currently home to TanenbaumCHAT at the Kimel Family Education Centre which ushered in a new era of Jewish education in September 2007.
The Reena Community Residence opened in September 2012, allowing approximately 60 residents with developmental, cognitive, physical or mental health needs to call Lebovic Campus home.
The Schwartz/Reisman Centre, Phil Granovsky Sports & Recreation Pavilion, Children & Family Pavilion, Sharp Family Atrium, Community Services Pavilion and the Leo & Sala Goldhar Conference and Celebration Centre round out the Lebovic Campus, making it a "city within a city".
